Thiruvalluvar University

Thiruvalluvar University was established in the year of 2002 at Vellore by Government of Tamil Nadu. Before 2002 the institution act as the Postgraduate Extension Centre, of the University of Madras at fort campus in Vellore. In october 2002 the University was inaugurated under the Thiruvalluvar University Act, 2002 (Tamil Nadu Act 32 of 2002) with name of great Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar at Serkkadu near Vellore city. The University campus cover almost 112.68 acres near Vallimalai about sixteen km from the Vellore City on the Ranipet-Chittoor Trunk Road.
