Bharathidasan University

Bharathidasan University was established in the year of 1982 at Palkalaiperur, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The name of the University tribute to the Tamil Poet Bharathidasan, The motto of the University is from his poetic word "We will create a brave new world" . The University campus initially located in a site over 1000 acres at Palkalaiperur. It is a Public sector University. The University offer More than 100 programmes and 10 certificate course also.

Distance Education

The Centre for Distance Education of Bharathidasan University was established in the year of 1992. First it inaugurated for purpose of the student who are near to the university area those who cannot continue the regular college for higher education. Centre for Distance Education established cover the southern states and Union Territories in India. Then slowly established all over India. Now Many centers established in abroad also. Student from various part of world can continue their higher studies through Centre for Distance Education of Bharathidasan University.

The Centre for Distance Education offers  60 programmes including 18 Undergraduate courses , 21 Post-Graduate courses, 13 Diploma programmes and 8 Professional programmes in particular disciplines. The Programme details are

Semester and Non-Semester Courses

Undergraduate: B.Com, BA, B.Sc., BCA
Eligibility: HSC Passed from Government Recognized Board
Duration: 3 Years

Post-Graduate: M.Sc., M.Com, M.LISc, MHRM, MBA, MCA
Eligibility: Graduate from Government Recognized University
Duration: 2 Years

Diploma/Certificate: PGDCA, Tally, Tamil Pandit, Archakar, Yoga, Thirukural, Arabic Pandit
Eligibility: Graduate for PGDCA and HSC for Others
Duration: 1 Year

Distance Education Admission 2014-2015

Aspirants can download the admission application from the official website www.bdu.ac.in/cde/ kindly fill the application carefully. Paste your current passport sized photograph on the application which taken in three month of period. Don't forget to sign at the end of the application. Affix attested photocopies of required documents like 10, +2 Mark sheet, Community certificate and Transfer certificate.

Take a Demand Draft for application fee of

Rs.100 for UG/Diploma/Certificate courses,
Rs.200  for PG Semester/Non-Semester/PG Diploma
Rs.300 for MBA/MCA courses

To the favour of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, payable at State Bank of India, BDU Branch (Code:07014), Tiruchirappalli. Enclose the Demand Draft with the application form and send it in a single envelop to the distance education department of the university address before July 2014.
